Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to disagree with my senior, teacher and
father in the field of Medicine, the President of the
Association of gynae/Obs in Uganda (AOGU), who suggests that Abortion
should be legal in Uganda, reason being that many girls are getting
unwanted pregnancies, and end up dieing from unsafe abortions. that if
abortion was legal, then most of these wouldnt die, as they would easily
seek safe abortion from hospitals!
So my question to you, Should
we also legalize theft, because many stranded people die/are killed
while they are climbing fences to steal? should we legalize cheating of
exams because most unprepared candidates panic during the examinations?
Should we also legalize adultery because people get ashamed after doing
it?..... No!
therefore, I can never be in support of legalizing a
bad vice because people are doing it. What we should do as medical
doctors is to educate the public and let them know that abortion is
murder, and in the process, 2 people can die, so carry out abortion at
your own risk....of course I have left out the spiritual/religious
aspects of abortion.
